Stunning views, friendly staff, and delicious Ethiopian meals. My room was cozy and the lodge had great amenities. Loved the horse riding in the garden!
Oh, how I enjoyed hearing every detail of my neighbor's conversations, day and night. Soundproof walls, what a marvelous invention!

We had the most amazing time exploring the area on horseback and hiking through stunning landscapes. The staff were super cool and made us feel at home. The views from the lodge were breathtaking, making every moment Instagram-worthy. Highly recommend for adventurous teens like us!
The only thing we wished for was a rocking party scene. It would have been awesome if the lodge hosted some fun events or had a cool hangout spot for young people to socialize and dance the night away.

The staff members were incredibly attentive, friendly, and super helpful, making my stay truly mind-blowing. The layout of the suites was jaw-dropping, with instant hot water and no power failures. The reception desk arranged amazing excursion options for me, and the view from my suite's balcony was absolutely stunning. The hotel's location was fantastic, with a heavenly view of majestic mountains and convenient proximity to the famous churches. The staff's perfect Ethiopian hospitality and welcoming vibe made me feel right at home. The restaurant offered magical sunset views, and although the food was decent, I recommend sticking to local dishes for a better dining experience. a safe and friendly place with comfortable rooms and an unbeatable location.

The guestrooms at Sora Lodge Lalibela are designed with comfort in mind, and I loved the welcoming decor. It made me feel right at home.
Personally, I was not a fan of the satellite TV in the double room. But I understand that others may still find it enjoyable.

I booked Sora Lodge as my second choice and it exceeded my expectations. The location is excellent, offering stunning views of the valley. The service is top-notch, and our guide, Geshaw, was fantastic during our 2-night stay. The restaurant serves delicious European and local food, with a great view of the valley. I was impressed to see that they grow their own produce in the garden, ensuring freshness. The lodge is conveniently located within walking distance of the churches, and if needed, tuk-tuks are available. The facilities are basic but well-maintained, and overall, for rural Ethiopian standards, it's a great little place. You won't find much better than this.
Didn't dislike anything about the property. 😊

I absolutely loved my stay at the lodge nestled peacefully on the edge of town. The stunning views from the terrace were absolutely breathtaking, with birds soaring through the sky. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The rooms were beautifully decorated and had everything I needed for a cozy stay. I particularly enjoyed the fresh vegetables from their own gardens. It was truly a peaceful and beautiful place to base myself during my solo adventure.
I did find that there was only one nearby restaurant and it was fully booked every night.

The views from the hotel were absolutely stunning, with incredible scenery of the mountains, valleys, and countryside. It was a serene and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a peaceful getaway. The restaurant at the hotel served delicious Ethio-German cuisine, with the soup being a standout dish. The hospitality and service provided by the staff were outstanding, both during dinner and breakfast. the hotel provided a fantastic dining experience.
The lack of TV in the room, but it wasn't a major issue as I wasn't there to watch TV. Another minor inconvenience was the absence of direct contact from the room to the reception, but there was always someone available at the reception when needed.
